Northern Michigan Association of Health Underwriters 8th Annual Golf Outting
As President of the Northern Michigan Association of Health Underwriters, our Health & Life Insurance specialist, Jackie Letts, presented a check for $1,000 to Camp Quality in Boyne City, a camp that helps children with cancer and their families. Another $1,000 check was presented to the Traverse City Free Clinic. The presentations were made at the Association’s annual golf outing, which raises money for area charities.
Jackie also recently attended the National Association of Health Underwriters annual convention in Denver. About 1,000 of the Association’s 20,000 members attended the conference, which included a Health Insurance Product Expo, nationally renowned speakers, educational workshops and networking opportunities. Health care is one of the most important issues being debated in both State legislatures and nationally. We feel it is important to be involved at the highest level in order to best represent our customers, as decisions that affect all of us are being made about the future of health care in our country.

Jackie Letts Qualifies for President’s Council Award
Jackie Letts joined our agency January 1st 2007 and specializes in Employee Benefits. In addition to qualifying for the President's Council Award (see attached), Jackie recently attended the National Association of Health Underwriters Capitol Conference in Washington DC. The following is a summary of the Washington DC meeting: Jackie Letts of Bingham Insurance Services, and President of the Northern Michigan Association of Health Underwriters (NMAHU) along with Valerie Cramer of Priority Health, Legislative Chair of NMAHU, recently attended the National Association of Health Underwriters Capitol Conference in Washington DC. This is an annual meeting where association members from across the country gather in Washington to meet one on one with Senators and Congressmen to discuss current and upcoming legislation with regard to the health insurance industry. "We all know our health care system is in need of reform", said Jackie, "and I am proud to play a part in making sure the voice of small employers is heard as those changes are being discussed and considered by our legislators."
